My Lord God,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will follow you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

- Welcome to the Dog Dooner Cafe’. In January of 2006, I began writing this blog as part of a contest for my study abroad program in Copenhagen, Denmark. During the semester that followed, family and friends were able to follow my travels around Denmark and Europe. Over my weeks and months abroad, it became a place to for just that, but also to share insights that the travels brought with them. The name comes from a imaginary place I began telling my parents about when I was 3. As far as I can tell, it was a place where everyone was welcome, where kindred spirits and new friends gathered and loved. The name, then, seemed fitting. Welcome to the Cafe’. Sit down, have some tea, and see what you think.
